Welcome to All That Remains, an AU The Walking Dead, open world RPG site.
Our story is based loosely on the TV show, with a few canon characters still alive that died in the show.
We are a brand new community that is in need for members to fill many available canon roles in order to advance our plot.
Our plot takes place sometime after season five, but is AU partially in the fact that this is the story of what would've
happened had they not found Alexandria.
We welcome anyone to join and build a community based off of The Walking Dead fandom!
If you are considering joining us, please read up on our plot and rules first to inform yourself about the
role playing of this site! Quick links to the important information of this site can be found below this welcome
text. Thank you, and please enjoy your visit!
There has been an update in staff members.
I want to welcome the newest addition to the team, Aimless!
After some discussion it has been decided it would be best for her to be the Co-Administrator and
help me run the place. As co-admin she will help me with the functioning of the site, advertise, and
accept & approve of new members! Thank you for accepting the position Aimless!
Change is coming, and All That Remains is going to be revived better than it was before!
If you haven't read the thread I've posted yet, please do so now! Boards will be cleaned up,
inactive accounts will be sorted through, and abandoned canons will reopen. A new skin has been added
courtesy of Aimless! Also, a big THANK YOU to all of my loyal members! I can't do it without you!

-- Anna (Daryl)
Mac gave them the all clear and Olivia stood up, relief flooding her system. She'd spent so long sleeping with one open, and with a group and four solid walls, perhaps she could get some proper rest. She followed Anne Marie up to the house, adrenaline wearing off to be replaced with the fact that Olivia wasn't invincible and that her arm hurt like hell. "Thank you." She mummered to the man as she passed, although her protective instincts didn't let up until Anne Marie was safely in the care of her sister.
With Will and Ellen gone to get the ammo trunk, Olivia scouted out the house, making note of all the possible exits. Just in case things went sideways, as she often found they tended to do once she got a bit of good luck in her. Entering the living room, she saw Anne Maire bent double. Olivia's brow furrowed in concern, and she made a quick trip to the bathroom and returned with the empty trashcan, placing it at her feet and just under her head. Olivia longed to reach out and give her comfort, but she was a stranger, and didn't want to stress Anne Maire more than she already was. So Olivia simply left to join Mac in questioning Lachy, leaning against the wall. As the only other 'adult' in the group, she felt responsible for them. Sleep could wait.

Will nodded his head and without saying a word to Ellen he turned around to go fetch their supplies from the SUV. He really hoped to prove himself useful to the group, and even if he couldn't prove himself to be an asset, then he at least hoped that he could prove to not be a burden. He grabbed the medical bag and the bag of food from the back seat. Will returned to the house with it and made eye contact with Mac briefly before setting them down on the floor in the room where he, Lachy, and Olivia stood. Although will wasn't one for talking, he was glad that he would be able to finally have four walls around him tonight as he had spent months living out of a car.
He rested his back against the SUV and waited for Ellen to come outside to help him with the ammo trunk. Will was sure if he tried he could probably take it in himself, but didn't want to over work his body in this heat and end up feeling just as exhausted and sick as Anne-Marie was feeling right now. Besides, Ellen had offered to come outside and help him anyways. After they got this in, and Will took some stuff from his car he was hopeful he wouldn't have to endure anymore talking and be able to go off and find a place to sleep for the night. After not being around people for months it was overwhelming to be in the presence of so many.

After making sure her sister was comfortable, Ellen went back outside to help Will with the ammo trunk. As she went out she noticed Olivia getting Anne-Marie a bucket. Smart idea, and Ellen appreciated the gesture. She couldn't help but think if Olivia was once a mother herself. She still appeared young so she might've been a mother of a young child.
But there'd be time to find out things about their new allies later on. Now all that mattered was getting their stuff inside and get out of that infernal heat. She walked up to Will who was waiting for her at the SUV and pointed at the military ammo crate in the back.
"Okay, I'll grab one end, you take the other." Ellen said. "Let's get this crate inside and get out of this goddamn heat."
Ellen shoved the crate closer to the back of the SUV's trunk, making it ready for them both to grab it. It was heavy and she couldn't carry it alone, but shoving it towards them wasn't a problem. She grabbed one end waiting for Will to grab the other.
"Now that we're on subject, what are you packing?" Ellen asked, referring to Will's weaponry. "We got some high-powered rifles ourselves, but we're not doing so well in the close combat department."
Ellen wanted to know where Will's proficiency was. Whether or not he was good at shooting or if he was better off swinging a melee weapon. That way they could plan their formation if they were going to scavenge the next morning.
Lachy didn't offer to help them with their things as he moved off to sink into the recliner again, grabbing a Rubik's cube from one of the shelves. With his hands occupied, he fell quiet and casually observed their interactions with each other, gleaning as much information as possible about their group dynamics. It didn't take him long to assume that Mac was the two younger girl's father and it almost appeared that Olivia was their mother, however, she seemed too young - it was hard to judge age though. Other than that, it seemed like Will was a newer member of the group, based on the fact he was instructed on how the ammo was brought in while they were away from their vehicles- if he had been with them for long, he would already know that, right?
After a few minutes, Lachy realized he could be doing a better job of looking disinterested. The cube was sitting in his lap, idle, and he started twisting and turning it until Mac came over. “Akers? Nah, not much. Oi’ve just been skirtin’ teh area. Too risky teh try it alone.” He looked across the room at the crate of ammunition that had been brought it and then at his comparatively inferior driving iron.

Will grabbed the other end of the ammo trunk and helped Ellen pull it out of the SUV. It was a little heavier than he suspected it was going to be, but it was nothing that he couldn't handle. He strained to breathe in the humidity of the bayou, and his cotton shirt clung to his back damp with his sweat. If Will was going to be traveling with these people he at least hoped that they were going to head a little bit north and get out of the deep south. Being a northern boy himself, he was starting to miss the frigid, and snowy winters even though he knew it would suck to survive in now.
Ellen talked about their supplies and Will listened, they were definitely a military family. He was lucky he came from a conservative gun loving family himself, otherwise he didn't know where he'd ever get his knowledge to survive in these circumstances without it. "I just got a Smith & Wesson, and a combat knife. I found a high powered riffle myself on one of my journeys that I kept with me. The first two weapons though are what I started off with when this all happened. My dad had a gun collection that me and my sister were able to take from when we left. Didn't get it all though, we had to leave in a haste... long story, really."
Hoping she wouldn't pry further about his story he helped her carry the luggage into the house, setting it down in the first room they entered in. If she wanted to know his story, he'd be more than happy to share it, just not right now in the moment. "There." Will said, not meeting her eyes as he could feel sorrow slowly creeping up inside of him, "Would you like help with anything else, or can I excuse myself?" He asked, hoping he could find an empty bedroom to retreat in and be the hermit he is.

Mac followed Lachy into the living room, and watched as the man sat down and tried solving a rubik's cube. He seemed a bit too nonchalant for Mac's taste, too relaxed. He was either so confident of his skills that he could afford this kind of behavior or he was a dumbass that didn't know his ass from his head. Mac figured it would be nice if he was the first but in their experience people usually proved to be the second. It still remained to be seen though.
Mac sat down next to Anne-Marie, facing Lachy. He observed the room for a moment; it didn't seem like there were more people staying there but Mac would still keep his guard up for at least another few hours. Could be that Lachy was occupying them in the realisation that he couldn't take them all on alone and was waiting for his friends to come back, if he had any. Mac knew for sure he wouldn't get too much sleep that night.
"How long have you been in the States?" Mac asked. "Were you living here before shit hit the fan or were you just a tourist?"
If they were going to stay here with Lachy, Mac wanted to know about him. Making plans for scouting and scavenging the town could wait.

After Will answered her question about his arsenal Ellen pondered about it for a moment. She didn't like revolvers and preferred pistols herself. Less recoil and more ammo capacity in the clip. The rifle was more interesting though; she just hoped Will knew how to use it.
"Oh the things I'd do to have my M14 back..." Ellen said. "M24's good for damage but the reload's a real bummer."
She got the part about having to leave in a hurry too, but when he mentioned his sister Ellen couldn't help but feel bad for him. He had probably lost his entire family. Maybe that's why he didn't care anymore about himself. But she wasn't going to pry for the moment, there'd be time for that later. He asked if he could be excused and Ellen figured he had deserved that much, she wanted to sit down for a moment as well. "No we're fine for now, thanks Will." Ellen answered. "Get some rest and if anything's up just holler."
Giving Will a nod, Ellen joined her father and sister in the living room, sitting down across her family in an empty armchair. Her dad was in the middle of questioning this Lachy-character and Ellen figured she too should hear what he had to say.
Lachy was making no noticeable progress on the puzzle and didn't mind the interruption, although he could tell he was under scrutiny. That didn't surprise him, nor did it bother him. As Mac sat down across from him, Lachy guessed he was about to be questioned and set the cube in his lap, lacing his fingers together casually as he looked up. " 'Been in teh states since I's ten," he answered dryly. "I's traveling down teh east coast when Pandora's box got opened." He didn't volunteer any more information than what was asked of him and took the liberty to return the favor of interrogation. "How'd yeh come across t'at?" he asked, tipping his head pointedly toward the ammo crate.

Mac rubbed his chin... The guy seemed to speak truthfully. It was a funny thing though that he still had that thick an accent after being in the US for that long. But then again, you couldn't expect everyone to speak plain old American. Nowadays people being able to speak at all was a good thing; if someone would growl and moan you knew that it was a walker.
When Lachy asked where they got the crate of ammo from, Mac was a bit hesitant at first but decided to answer the man's question. It's not like they had stolen or killed anyone for it after all. Although answering would bring up some bittersweet memories about the settlement in Colorado, and how they had to flee it. Mac wasn't used to losing and hated to be remembered of it.
"We were in a thriving community in the Colorado Rockies." Mac answered. "But it got attacked by raiders and we weren't able to withstand. The ammo was one of the last things we were able to grab before we had to flee."
Flashes of the battle at Bear Lake went through Mac's mind. That explosion injuring him, his ears ringing as Anne-Marie and Ellen dragged him into the SUV, passing out in the car as they sped away. It wasn't something he wanted to remember.
"Anyway, we came back south after that." Mac continued. "See if we can resupply here before heading west. Figured there'd be a good chance the walkers in and around New Orleans took to the swamps, making the city more manageable to scavenge."
Mac moved forward a bit, leaning his elbow on his knee. Maybe Lachy would be interest in joining them on their mission.
"First I'd like to have a look at that town up ahead though." Mac said. "Akers. There's a chance people evacuating from New Orleans were in a hurry to leave and given its remote location there might still be some good stuff around. If you're up for it, we could use the help."
Mac looked Lachy straight in the eye, expecting an answer. He didn't know what to make of the man yet, but coped with the possibility that this guy would leave them behind and scavenge the town on his own. If he'd make even the slightest indication of doing so... well, they'd just have to tie him up until they were done. But that was the worst case scenario. A lone survivor like Lachy probably welcomed the chance of being part of a group, even if it was just for a little while.
